The Sacred Heart Players Proudly Present Their Seventh Annual Musical Production:

HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING
Power, sex, ambition, greed...it's just another day at the office!
From the authors of "Guys and Dolls," comes a fun, fast and flirtatious satire of big business and all it holds sacred.  HOW TO SUCCEED follows the rise of J. Pierrepont Finch, who uses a little handbook entitled "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" to climb the corporate ladder.  The play charts his rise from lowly window washer to corporate, high-powered executive over the exhaustive span of three weeks.  Along the way, our hero tackles such familiar dangers as "company man" sandtraps, marauding attacks from the boss' whiny nephew, whirling office parties, backstabbing co-workers, caffeine addiction and - of course - true love at the World Wide Wicket company.

The music is fast and jazzy.  The pace is dizzying and the dialogue is witty.  HOW TO SUCCEED relies heavily on its fast-paced and fun choreography as well as its outlandish characters.  The ensemble usually consists of over 20 cast members (chorus included) and features equal numbers of men and women.  Key roles include:

J. Pierrepont Finch
-our irrepressible, mischievous but sweet hero
J.B. Biggley
-the stuffed-shirt philandering company president
Bud Frump
-JB's scheming, whining, lazy nephew
Mr. Twimble
-the perfect company man & head of the mailroom
Wally Womper
-CEO and general head-cheese of WW Wickets
Mr. Gatch
-slimy middle-management man
Ms. Barbara Bratt
-head of personnel & confidant to JB Biggley
Rosemary Pilkington
-a secretary sure to catch our hero's heart
Smitty
-Rosemary's wise cracking best friend & secretary
Hedy LaRue
-JB's beautiful, but sadly stupid mistress
Miss Jones
-JB's stuffy, but extremely competant executive secretary
THE BOOK
-perhaps the most influential cast component

Other roles include office workers, secretaries, cleaning people, executives...and anyone else you might find in any American business.  More information on the show can be found on the Music Theater International website www.mtishows.com.
